For Waiting Parents Like Us

I wanted to share something I've been doing that a friend of mine who adopted from China 6 years ago did for her daughter. Of course I pray for the safety and health of our little one every day, but my friend shared with me that she would also pray that her daughter would see her new Mommy and Daddy in her dreams and when the day came for them to finally meet she wouldn't be scared because she would remember them from her dreams. So I added that to my prayer list, that our little girl would know us when we meet her and remember us from her dreams. I also shared this with a family friend who started this process of adopting a little girl around the same time we did. She is in Ethiopia now getting ready to bring home her 8 month old daughter. Her mother texted my Mom today and wrote, "I know our prayers for E to see her mothers face in her dreams were answered." What a blessing!! Just thought I would share, I'm so glad my friend shared it with me.

  1. Wow, I read your post yesterday and sent up this prayer last night. We got the call for our (3rd) referral this morning! Not sure at this point if we will accept the referral but I love this prayer!

  2. Hey y'all. We're a waiting family in AR, just a bit behind you guys in the process. (We're waiting for our agency to sign off on our docs so we can get them apostilled.)The suggestion of praying for our daughter to recognize us is something I'd never thought of. It's really beautiful! We also have two little boy. Love the blog, by the way. :) Have a great day.

  3. I love this idea. We are waiting for 1st trip to meet our daughter and I am going to start praying this tonight.

Best of luck in your journey to your daughter

  4. hi -

and i love the idea for prayers for this baby. i have a hard time knowing what to pray for sometimes.

  5. Thanks for your nice comment on my blog! I'm glad you wrote something, so now I can follow your journey too :) Love the quotes you had on your poll. My neighbor right next door to us has an Austin and Tyler too! So funny! We started our process when our boys were 6 and 4. They are now 9 and 7. Time sure flies. Love the idea to pray for our baby girl to see us in her dreams :)
