The Butterflies are Officially Here

Now that I've got most of the stuff done and most everything crossed off the list, I'm really starting to feel the butterflies. I feel a lot like I did right before I headed to the hospital to have the boys. An excited nervousness, hard to describe. I just can't stop smiling, I feel such a joy and excitement. I can't wait to meet our little girl, the little one I have prayed for for so long now, not knowing her name or age or where she lived. Now I know all that and am just a few days away from seeing her precious face. I have dreamed about that moment for so long and can't believe it's actually going to happen. I can't wait to see her in person for the first time. I'm coming little one, just one more day until I get on that plane and just 4 more days until I can finally hold you in my arms. Then I'll be on the fast track to getting you home!!!

Its going to be great and if I might add a small piece of advise given to me 2 years ago as we went to meet our DD. Someone, somewhere told us to keep saying to each other "Loosey Goosey, Go with the flow" and my DH used that alot with me and it helped(Iam a control freak). And take millions of pictures, have fun and enjoy every moment! Please keep us lurkers posted!

  3. Kristyn, how exciting for you. I have those same feelings, except I don't travel for 3 more days. Praying that your flight goes well. What are some things that you packed that someone told you about that you hadn't thought of? I just want to make sure I have everything I need.

  5. Loosey goosey, go with the flow... I like it! Congratulations on being one day closer to fulfilling your dreams. Make that beautiful girl feel like she's on the cover of Vogue! Strike a pose!

Please do let us know what you didn't think of while packing...we leave in just over a week and I'm stressing over the suitcase situation a little.

I do have one suggestion though... When you come back from meeting her, go ahead and pack her suitcase for pickup. Everything except the formula... bring wipes if you want to, but buy diapers over there to use while you're finishing up the paper chase. We packed enough "good" (American) diapers and food to use on the flight home, but purchased the rest of Jack's food and diapers in Russia.

The night before we left I measured out formula into snack size Ziplocks, accounting for four bottles a day and put them into one larger one. That way I wasn't trying to measure out formula when we were on the move. I was trying to keep it very simple as I was a first time Mom. Shopping in Russia was very easy, your translators can tell you what you're looking for if you can't make it out by photos.

    Have an AWESOME trip!!

  6. Try not to let the boys see you cry when you leave. This needs to be a happy time. I held my breath each time I left and cried like a baby in the car. I hated leaving my kiddos.

Have a great time with your sweetie. We will be praying for you!
